Kevin and Drema Thompson
Psalmist, Worship Leader and Songwriters
Born and raised in south Louisiana, Kevin has served God since he was a small child and has spent his life involved in music. He began playing trumpet at the age of 10 and began writing songs, playing acoustic guitar and piano in high school. Kevin attended Southeastern Louisiana University and the International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas, where he lead worship and continued song writing. While at IBC, he traveled with Heartbeat and served as youth pastor and musical support at Northwest Christian Center. He has ministered in churches across the United States and Mexico. Kevin and his wife, Drema, and youngest son Nathan, reside in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
During the past 36 years, Kevin has been involved actively in ministry. He started as a Instrumentalist on the regular worship team and moved to an alternate musician, covering keyboards, guitar or bass if some one was absent as well as a backup singer, Special singer and worship leader for the youth. Kevin led a strong worship team in the youth ministry with cutting edge rock and sincere heartfelt worship. He has lead worship for many youth camps and Disciple Now weekends and retreats as well as numerous night of worship. He has had the opportunity to work with Lifepoint Church, Tree of Life Missions Church, Antioch Family Church, Abundant Life Church, Bethany World Prayer Center, Immanuel Baptist Church, South Baptist Church and Parkview Community Celebration and many others. Kevin has served as the Worship Pastor of Lifepoint Church, Tree of Life Missions Church, Antioch Family Church, and Worship leader of Abundant Life Church Denham Springs for over two decades. Additionally, he participated in various other music ministries and bands such as Jesus Express, Aimin’ High, In His Steps, Mended Heart, Mended Heart Worship and others.
